Adam Hall has been building fences, and then a fencing company, for more than 15 years. With Matt Carroll he started AH Fencing in 2017. The first two years lost money. The later years turned a $3,000 ute start into a multi-city commercial contractor.

Ethan Chittick left school in Year 11, started B&E Built with a mate at 21, and spent the next decade learning that being a good carpenter and running a carpentry company are different jobs.

Damien Quinn spent about 15 years at Multiplex after earlier years in his father's business, Wimbledon Homes. He left because quality tools on site were still paper and hope. Visibuild has since raised $6.6 million from Skip Capital and is used on major Australian projects including data centres.

Nouri runs Concrete City and is the founder of CreteMate, a platform connecting concrete businesses with workers. He came into concreting after trying different jobs and trades.

Irene Tartiris moved from Greece to Australia at 11, studied architecture and found her first construction opportunity by reaching out to builders. Her career has taken her from residential work into larger commercial projects, including finishes coordination at Mirvac.
